Mission High School seniors Yada Sitiprawet and Olena Kononovych, who train with SF Alliance Wrestling, qualified for the girls state high school championship later this month with their performances in the Feb. 5 Central Coast Sectional qualifier. Yada took first in the 125-pound weight class and Olena was third in the 114-pound class. Fellow senior SFAW alum Winifher Vasquez was unable to compete because of a should injury.

While the girsl were competing in the sectionals, the Mission boys were in the Colt Tournament at El Camino High School, and once again several wrestlers who have trained with Alliance took home medals: Ulfido Juarez the silver, Edilzer ‘Oaxaco’ Juarez and Jaime Loo took fifth, and Chiluugen Tumurchudur took eighth. Denial Peña was on his way to a seventh place finish when he dislocated his elbow. GGWC hopes for s peedy recovery for Daniel.
